How, why and when?

To the Editor, He had a long neck, tiny head as well as a big, fat body and a long, tiny tail. One million years ago, he turned his head back towards his tail, looked up at the sky. What do you think he seen? The same moon and stars that I seen last night. Dino the dinosaur and I looking at the sky, relating to the stars in some small way. Seems like yesterday, looking at the scene makes one wonder. How? Why? And when? Steve Kopa Weirton

The lawn mower

To the Editor, Okay folks. Before I begin to type about my beloved lawn mower, I want to clear the air about one thing. My writing. When I do my titles, my structuring of sentences, and anything that deals with any subject that I write about... sometimes they can be a little far fetched. Capitals where they should be. Quotations. Commas, periods, and all the like. The reason that I do these things is to get your attention. So be it. Okay, let’s get to the lawn stuff. Well, here it is. Spring. Time to pull those machines out of storage, and check all the fluids. Don’t forget ...

The needs of downtown

To the Editor, OK, so what’s the problem here? Seniors and citizens need a grocery store downtown, period, no excuses. The old Kroger and area was ideal so let’s get some. Regardless of their size and makeup, credit unions are ...

A Gabrielle Maria in Bosnia Kosovos, Christian Stefan and surely a Iris Chang in the Rape of Nanking. Their pain was great, but no one heard their cries, or maybe we heard and closed our eyes. But of all these atrocities, there’s one greater. It stand before a Christian nation. 1973, the courts did approve the right to choose by 3,001 100 million dead. What a legacy we left. A legion of dead. ...

Grade school English… revisited

To the Editor, Okay dear readers. There is a time when we as young children, were taught the basics in grade school. Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. It sounded simple. But then came along Science. Geography. Religion. Spelling. What else will be coming our way? For me I wasn’t sure. But all of those subjects came to me like a tidal wave. Somehow I survived the onslaught of the books and papers that poured in front of me like a flooded river. But it will be okay. Just take your time. I did. Then...fourth grade arrived. And some genius professor and his colleagues, came up ...
