To the Editor, UPDATE REGARDING: Children sent home for quarantine and absentee policy. I just received the following voicemail message from Mrs. Petrovich: “The state department has provided us a code for quarantined students, which allows the system to NOT count it against them in regards to finals. The high schools will be notifying the students and the secretaries are aware. So any student that has documentation of quarantine marked a certain code in the system and will not have to take finals due to this quarantine.” This is good news, however, if your child is ...

Support project in Weirton

To the Editor, I have been a commercial real estate developer in Weirton for more than 20 years. My experience tells me that Southwestern Energy’s proposed well pad is a good project for Weirton. Over the years, my developments have contributed more than $100,000 in tax revenue inside city limits. I think this project is safe because the industry is so well regulated and a great source of long term revenue. More preparation needed

To the Editor, If our children at Weir High are exposed to a positive case, they will be forced to quarantine and be sent home. The school is considering this an absence and there is no protocol in place for these children to learn virtually while not in school and your child will then have to take finals. Dire thoughts on the rise

To the Editor, America has a habit of getting into wars it doesn’t want to win, by drawing lines in the sand not to go beyond. Korea, Vietnam, in Iraq we got to the walls of the city and quit. Now we’re into a war on terrorism, where shall we draw the line? First question, why would anyone consider a fair trial for a terrorist or a terrorist country?
