To the Editor, The Weirton Museum and Cultural Center will once again host the annual Robert Haworth Memorial Art Exhibition on Saturday, October 16th at the Museum located at 3149 Main Street in downtown Weirton. The Art Committee of the Museum invites area residents to come and enjoy the art of this year’s featured Haworth students Helen Sweeney and the late Mitchell Anthony Sagan. To the Editor, On Aug. 28, a letter titled “Support Project in Weirton” appeared — the project deserves full support. The information which appears in this article also comes from an article titled, “U.S. Oil and Natural Gas Industry Supported Millions of Jobs, Trillions in Economic Impact in 2019.” The second article comes from Erin Mundahl, who serves as the senior consultant for strategic communications, energy and natural resources at FTI Consulting. Strengthen our power grid

To the Editor, We must do more to strengthen our power grid against an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) event. Such an event can result from an attack by terrorists or by another country (e.g. China may already have the capability,) or it can occur naturally. It could result in devastating loss of life. There is disagreement on this, but why take chances? We should also have a ground-based GPS back-up system, (like Russia has,) or we could lose internet at the least in an anti-satellite attack. To the Editor, Having owned and operated our family business for more than 30 years, it’s good to see new investments and jobs being created here because of natural gas. West Virginia is blessed with rich energy resources. Hardworking families, like ours, all want good jobs, a clean environment and a chance for our kids and grandkids to raise their families here.
