Creek falls on the road
CALCUTTA — The Indian Creek boys basketball team dropped a 55-44 decision on the road at Beaver Local on Friday night.
Caden Saffle hit three triples in the first quarter on the way to leading Creek with a team-high 19 points, while Nishon White and Bruce Mazar each tallied eight.
Creek, now 1-4, returns home to host Harrison Central next Friday.
Huskies fall to Potters
CADIZ — The Harrison Central boys basketball team dropped a close 46-41 decision at home Friday to visiting East Liverpool.
Bryson Kamarec led the Huskies, now 0-3, with a game-high 20 points hitting four 3s, while Austin Dulkoski netted 12.
The Huskies host Beaver Local on Tuesday.

Weir has senior night meet
STEUBENVILLE — Weir High recognized its seniors during a quad meet Thursday at the Big Red Natatorium, taking on Big Red, Cambridge and John Glenn.
Big Red’s boys and girls teams each picked up three team score victories, while Weir’s girls were victorious over Cambridge.
Weir’s seniors recognized were Danielle Best, Dacodah Roche, and Alex Palacios.
Palacios won the 100 free and 100 back. Big Red’s Magdalene McKenna was a double event winner in the 100 and 200 free.
Brooke sweeps home meet
WELLSBURG — The Brooke swimming team swept a home meet Thursday, topping Marietta and Oak Glen in boys, girls and combined team scores.
Brooke’s Kiersten Harvath (100 butterfly, 200 free), Faith Farrell (100 free, 50 free) and Ryan Kettler (200 free, 500 free) were double event winners for the Bruins.
