BEREA, Ohio (AP) — Myles Garrett hasn't met his new head coach, but he has at least talked to his new defensive coordinator. "I knew that would be a question. I'm going to leave a lot of that interaction between me and Myles. There has been some. Yes," Mike Rutenberg said on Wednesday ...

FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Big 12 coaches unanimously agreed Thursday on their preference for a 24-team College Football Playoff, a scenario in which the conference would have had five playoff teams last season instead of only league champion Texas Tech like it did in the current 12-team playoff format. When the 16 coaches were informally polled about doubling the size of the playoff field during one of their sessions at the Big 12 spring meetings, all of them raised their hands. "They should ask coaches for more opinions on what's best for college football," West Virginia coach Rich ...

It will be ringed by a red, white and blue stage under a towering arch featuring stars and stripes patterns and two large screens carrying ...

Geno Smith knows he can write a ‘superhero movie’ story in his return to the Jets

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Geno Smith knows what a lot of New York Jets fans are daydreaming about. The quarterback has been here before, a much younger and less-experienced version, of course. The Jets had only missed the playoffs the previous two years when Smith was selected by the franchise in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft. He has come and gone elsewhere — four other stops, actually — and that postseason drought has since reached 15 years, the longest among teams in the NFL, NBA, NHL and Major League Baseball. Smith is now 35 years old and back where he began his ...
