Delays expected on South 11th Tuesday because of paving

WEIRTON – Traffic delays are expected on a portion of South 11th Street, Tuesday, as a result of scheduled milling and paving of the street. Weirton Public Works officials note milling and paving will take place from Murphy Avenue to Red Rider Road, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly. Jefferson County Health District alarmed by increase in fatal drug overdoses

STEUBENVILLE — Jefferson County officials are sounding the alarm about an uptick in fatal drug overdoses. Health District Director Andrew Henry said Friday eight overdose deaths have been recorded to date in Jefferson County, four of them in April. “By comparison, there were 10 throughout all of 2025,” he said. Fatalities were confirmed in Steubenville, Wintersville, Mingo Junction, Brilliant and Bloomingdale, he said.
