Steubenville Police Food run: A woman said she found two young kids walking up John Scott Highway, Saturday. She told police they told her they were “trying to go to McDonald’s.” Police said the kids told them where they live and they drove them to their homes. Holding a grudge: A man asked police to help him gather some of his personal belongings from a home downtown, but they said the woman wouldn’t come to the door, Saturday. Steubenville Police Needs help: Someone reported seeing a man unresponsive next to a motorcycle at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and North Sixth Street, Saturday. Police said they “nudged and shook him” for about 30 seconds before he roused. He initially told police all was well and he was just tired, but they’d noticed his face and hands were covered in open sores, which is most commonly associated with hard drug use of long periods of times, and told him they weren’t looking to arrest him and would rather he seek professional help. Steubenville Police Walk-ins not welcome: A South Fifth Street resident was “struck multiple times in her face (and had) dried blood on her lips” after a stranger walked into her home and was heard by roommates telling himself, “The door was unlocked and I’m going to be staying here tonight,” Thursday.
