Follansbee man faces 84 charges
WELLSBURG — A Follansbee resident facing 84 charges was among the indictments returned by a Brooke County grand jury this week.
The grand jury, on Monday, returned 84 indictments against Charles C. Carr, 56, of 266 Mahan Lane in a case investigated between Sept. 11 and Nov. 12.
Among the indictments against Carr are three charges of distribution to a minor of obscene matter, 80 charges of attempt to solicit a minor via computer and one charge of soliciting a minor and traveling to engage the minor in prohibited sexual activity.
Robert A. Moore, 41, 1200 Peirce Ave., Toronto, was indicted on two counts of failing to register as a sex offender during the time period of June 15 to Dec. 11. According to the indictment, Moore knowingly failed to provide a change in required information by failing to contact the West Virginia State Police detachment in Wellsburg to advise them that he had moved from his registered address of “Homeless Living Under the Veterans Bridge in Brooke County,” and failed to advise that he moved out of the state when he was residing in car at 1200 Peirce Ave., Toronto. In addition, Moore allegedly failed to advise authorities of information concerning the 2001 Chevrolet, which he purchased in November, within 10 days of becoming the owner. Moore did not report ownership until Dec. 14.
Bradley Patchin, 29, 111 Clearview Ave., Weirton, was indicted on four counts of domestic battery-third offense or subsequent, two counts of strangulation, one =count of unlawful restraint and one count of false swearing between June and Sept. 28. Patchin has two previous convictions of domestic battery.
Walter L. Bremer, Jr., 48, 106 Sixth St., Wellsburg, was indicted on three counts of malicious assault. According to the indictment, Bremer allegedly stabbed an individual three times on Feb. 24; once on the right side of her body, once next to her right eye and once on the right side of her nose.
Jim Mitchell, 48, 3944 Adams St., Weirton, was indicted on one count of sexual assault in the first degree and one count of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian for the time in or around the month of June 2018.
Herbert E. Anderson, Jr., 25, 11 Fourth St., Beech Bottom, was indicted on one count of gross neglect creating a substantial risk or death or serious bodily injury and one count of child abuse result in injury on or around Dec. 9.
Larry W. Ellison, 37, 832 Gilbert Ave., Follansbee, was indicted on one count of wanton endangerment involving a firearm, one count of gross neglect creating a substantial risk or serious bodily injury and one count of domestic assault. According to the indictment, Ellison performed an act with a firearm which created substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury to another person, namely his minor child, by allegedly pointing a firearm towards his child, and did further discharge the firearm two times into the ceiling of his residence while within close proximity of his child.
Jalin Brandon Edward Beads, 25, 1111 Claire Ave., Steubenville, was indicted on two counts of delivery of schedule II controlled substance and one count of transporting a controlled substance into the state with intent to deliver. Beads allegedly delivered crack cocaine to a cooperating informant in or around the Wal-Mart in Weirton and around Harmon Creek Road.
Carlous G. Angelo, 55, 208 Shady Glen Road, Colliers, was indicted on one count of grand larceny and one count of daytime entering without breaking a dwelling house with the intent to commit a crime therein. During the time period of July 1, 2017 through Feb. 28, Angelo allegedly took, stole and carried away nine guns belonging to another individual.
Kevin L. Walnoho II, 24, 300 Mar Lou Lane, Wellsburg, was indicted on two counts of burglary, one count of attempting to flee by any means other than the use of a vehicle from a law enforcement officer and two counts of petit larceny on Dec. 11.
Kari A. Vigliotti, 34, 7 McNair Ave., Slovan, was indicted on one count of entry of building other than a dwelling house with the intent to commit a larceny therein and one count of shoplifting, third or subsequent offense. Vigliotti reportedly entered a Rite-Aid located at 1600 Main St., Follansbee, and allegedly stole various bottles of alcohol. Vigliotti previously was convicted for the crime of retail theft in Pennsylvania on multiple occasions, according to the indictment.
Dale Alexander, 21, 415 Linden Ave., Steubenville, was indicted on one count of robbery in the first degree. On Oct. 27, Alexander allegedly robbed a BFS gas station in Weirton with a firearm.
Damian Michael, 25, 209 Vine St., Follansbee, was indicted on one count of robbery in the first degree. On Feb. 20, Michael allegedly robbed a Subway restaurant in Follansbee with a knife.
