A pair of recent high school graduates from the Northern Panhandle, one from Brooke High School and another from Wheeling Park High School, were announced Tuesday as National Merit Scholarship winners financed by U.S. colleges and universities. STEUBENVILLE — Now that they have grant funding to remediate the old Naval training center, at least two Jefferson County commissioners say replacing Pico Park with new housing wouldn’t be the end of the world.
