Jefferson Co. commissioners say their hands are tied on water line move

STEUBENVILLE — Jefferson County commissioners said they are being required to relocate a water line in the 1800 block of state Route 151 between New Alexandria and Georges Run because of a planned culvert replacement project by the Ohio Department of Transportation. ODOT plans to replace and extend an existing culvert beneath the roadway where Georges Run flows under the highway before discharging into the Ohio River. Health District to promote bicycle safety at Saturday Market

STEUBENVILLE — The Jefferson County General Health District will be promoting bicycle safety this weekend at the Saturday Market on Fourth. The health district will offer free bicycle helmets and safety education for children while supplies last from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday on Fourth Street. Kids are welcome to bring their bikes and ride around the safety obstacle course after being fitted for a helmet.
