Jefferson County Farm Bureau elects board members, presents awards at annual meeting

ADENA — The Jefferson County Farm Bureau’s annual meeting was held Sept. 8 at the commercial building at the Farm Restaurant in Adena and attended by 69 people.

The evening of socializing and conducting the business of the county organization included members voting on agricultural policies for local, state and national issues as well as updating the code of regulations.

The members elected new board members, including Belinda Boyce, Ava Watkins, Andrew Wetherell and Max McConnell. Board members returning to serve another term are Polly Givens, Chuck Cline and Corky Saiter.

The Jefferson County Farm Bureau showed its support of youth in recognizing Delaney Johnson, Bailey Ebright and Cameron Best as scholarship recipients.

Awards presented included the Partner of the Year award to Woodland Trails Greenhouse in Richmond for its outstanding relationship with the farm bureau. Nathan Watkins was honored with the “Member of Distinction” award, and Jerry Lahmers was recognized for his 10 years of service as being Ohio Farm Bureau’s state trustee for Carroll, Jefferson, Harrison and Tuscarawas counties.
