Jefferson County Sheriff Fishy story: Deputies spotted a U-Haul truck parked by the railroad tracks on Costona Lane near the Brown’s Island bridge, Tuesday. They said the truck was empty but two Weirton men who were there “claimed to be fishing with a string and magnet.” Deputies notified Weirton Police “since they have been (investigating) thefts of copper from the Brown’s Island area.” Way too loud: Neighbors complained of extremely loud music blaring from a property in the 300 block of Frostview Drive, Steubenville, Tuesday. Steubenville Police Cited: An Oregon Avenue resident was cited after he allegedly balked at turning the volume on his car radio down, Monday. Police said several callers had complained about the loud music coming from his vehicle and report when they arrived, Shawn P. Wanner, 52, 1635 Oregon Ave., was washing his car with the volume turned up inside. Steubenville Police Wonder why: A man who wanted his vehicle serviced at a shop in town told employees he’d “been denied service before and if they did it again, then they would regret it,” Friday.
