Mom is mom

To the Editor, A doctor and a nurse who takes care of the booboos. A chef who does amazing things in the kitchen. An attorney who solves all arguments in the house. A counselor who confides with the young and old. A wife who listens to her husband. A neighbor who chats with other neighbors. A caring and a big hearted person. This is what Moms are. This is what Moms do. We sometimes take Moms for granted. Never take for granted, the wizard of all the previous mentioned. Thank those Moms that have done everything for you . A Happy Mother’s Day to all of you ...

Hoping for a Trump return

To the Editor, Trump accuser E. Jean Carroll claims Donald Trump raped her in a department store dressing room, 30 years ago. Over the years, Carroll has reportedly accused six other men, besides Trump, of rape, including former CBS head Les Moonves. The others, shockingly, she never named, saying only that she’d been assaulted. That’s quite a statistic, when you think about it. How many women can claim to have been raped seven times? A little research reveals that E. Jean Carroll is a politically deep blue nut, making accusations in a politically deep blue region that has it ...

Truth or fiction

To the Editor, I feel so sorry for the way the world is spiraling out of control, especially with our young children who are being allowed to question their gender. It’s true. Parents are taking their young boys, who identify as a girl, to doctors who are allowed to perform sex change procedures, known as puberty-blockers. Transgender changes are true. Boys are being changed, or are they? The 4th U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals just ruled 2-1, that the federal law Title IX, cannot be applied to a 13-year-old, West Virginian, who has been taking puberty-blocking medication and ...

Honored by field dedication

To the Editor, I was very surprised when I learned the athletic fields at Oak Glen High School were going to be named for me. The number of people in attendance to witness this event during the threat of rain on April 10, 2024, was astounding. I was truly honored to be in the presence of such respectful young athletes who play on the baseball and softball teams and of so many members of the community who supported the dedication. I thank the Hancock County administrators, the coaches, the committee who arranged the dedication ceremony and the fans who made the celebration ...

Logical conclusion

To the Editor, The logical conclusion of life’s expectancy — it will be long. Zip to 60. Maybe some will make expectancy — some die at birth, some make 100. Twenty is too young, 30 as well. Fifty is not bad — can’t do much after that. Maybe watch the stars or take a walk in the park. Don’t want to stay too long — many of my friends will be gone. Best to go peacefully. It will not be bad, heaven is waiting. Fear nothing, God said. Steve Kopa Weirton
