Plenty of evidence against Trump

To the Editor, There’s no evidence against Donald Trump in the E. Jean Carroll case? Really? How about the “Access Hollywood” tape? A playbook for Trump’s predatory behavior. Trump: “I am automatically attracted to beautiful (women.) I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss — I don’t even wait. And when you are a star, they let you do it. You can do anything — grab them by the ***. You can do anything.” (Wikipedia, “Access Hollywood” tape.) Powerful, painful evidence — the method of operation of a rapist. Carroll testified that Trump ...

No one really fought for mill

To the Editor, The original date for the idling of the Weirton tin mill was April 16, but that has been changed to April 20. This is the result of the International Trade Commission’s ruling of Feb. 6. This action caused the owner of Cleveland-Cliffs to suspend operations and idle the plant on Feb. 16. Both the local news outlets and papers carried Sen. Joe Manchin’s, D-W.Va., visit to Weirton, on April 4, where he first visited the Form Energy facility, which is under construction. Afterward, he stopped at the USW Local 2911, where he spoke with a representative of ...

The Easter promise

To the Editor, Evolution versus Creationism is a hot topic. Some schools have been teaching evolution for years. They call it biology. Why not leave it at that? As children grow into adulthood, they will make up their own mind where they came fromand where they are going. Until science can produce the missing link in the transformation of an ape into a human, science will be teaching hokey pokey science. Exactly what they accuse the creationists of doing. The Easter promise. Everlasting life. Why not? Steve Kopa Weirton

Growing up for a big check

To the Editor, Singer Lady Gaga, always a mindless, unquestioning ally of the LGBTQ bloc, has “called out the hatred” directed toward annoying transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. The great Lady, shocked by its vehemence, called it appalling. Only the most proudly tolerant liberals, I suppose, are permitted to be so rabidly and fervently intolerant. When someone puts themselves out there in a controversial position, they take the chance they’ll get some disapproval. Mulvaney, 27, somehow, some way, was chosen to be the face of transgenderism in America. This shameless, ...

Democrats make good ice cream

To the Editor, Democrats know how to make good ice cream. There is no doubt about it. Just the other day I mused over a broad selection of ice cream at a major grocery outlet. Previously content with a lower-priced brand, I thought maybe this time I’d try something pricier. Oh my gosh, there it was, the priciest brand in the freezer featuring a broad variety of flavors. Cherries, cookies and salt caramel were available from the wide assortment. I settled for some salt caramel. Man, was that ice cream ever good. Who is responsible for this delectable creation I wondered? Right ...

Words mean a lot

To the Editor, Abortion: Where were all the holier than thou before 1973 Roe v. Wade? Every little town in America had a known back-alley abortion doctor. Nuclear: Russia, United States, plus seven other countries have nuclear bombs. Eccentricity: What a world it’s become when one with unusual behavior can start WWIII. Who is going to be number one to blow the world to kingdom come? Putin threatens if American troops enter the skirmish in Ukraine he will respond with nuclear power. Trump’s blood bath comment. Jibber jabber. Foolish, worthless, nonsensical ...
