To the Editor, Some odds and ends: It’s time for Congress to grow up. If one has to be 35 years or older to run for president, then 65 should be the cut-off age when one can’t run. To the Editor, With the advance of old age, many are afflicted with memory loss and an ability to confront problems, mostly of an everyday involvement. Such individuals merit our consideration and our deepest concern for their well-being, and further, our obligation in making their lives meaningful and at peace. We have all observed President Joe Biden’s difficulties in making a coherent speech, and his seemingly being at loss when exiting the stage. To the Editor, I’m not sure who wrote the “Our Opinion” article in the February 26, 2024, Daily Times paper, but it sure came out one-sided. Putting targets on books and learning, from obscene material, really? That’s kind of a no-brainer. We put cigarettes and cigars behind a locked case, can’t be purchased until you’re 21. Liquor can’t be purchased until you’re 21. Putting and keeping obscene material out of reach of children under 18 only makes common sense. Recovery is a mystery

To the Editor, Okay. This is not a novel, or a detective mystery. It’s about me. And it all started last October 23. I was having problems going to the bathroom. I told my wife that I was passing blood. This was a serious situation. We both agreed to have this taken care of. We went to Steubenville to see an oncology specialist. We met Dr. Jahdi, and set up my colonoscopy procedure. I was put asleep as Dr. Jahdi did his tests to see what my problem was.Sure enough, there was a white cyst attached to my colon. To the Editor, The Autumn sun is kind to me. I and my shadow know. I job along the highway, my shadow long and lean. A split-second memory of my teen disappears in the shadows, reappears in the sun, runs forward in front, dips over the hillside, then stands tall and erect accompanying me on a long journey’s run.
