Event to show God’s love

To the Editor, The Bible tells us that we are to love and take care of each other. The Bible clearly teaches us in James 2:14-18, “14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I ...

Paesano touched all in community

To the Editor, RIP Anthony “Tony” Paesano — I was once asked to introduce Tony, who was being recognized by the city of Follansbee’s Make a Difference Award, an award that Tony created while mayor to salute those who changed lives. I was stumped. What words could remotely explain his impact on people in our community? Standing at the podium, looking at the audience, I thought of the answer, and it was quite simple. I am a veteran

To the Editor, I am a Veteran. I served my country in the sea, and on the shore. I am a Veteran. Friends of mine have done the same. We got no glory, nor the fame. We are Veterans. Come to think of the homeless and starving Veterans... wouldn’t it be nice for a group of folks to purchase one of our empty buildings in our area, and turn it into a place for shelter. For food. For showers, washers and dryers. And education from retired ...

Cable news is obnoxious

To the Editor, Some brain drainers while watching TV cable news. Ham acting at its worst. News personality trying to emote facial expressions to the content of the news. Cable news that engages in programs with multiple speakers all trying to speak at the same time is asinine. It appears all the conservative pundits belong to the Knights of the Round Table of Black Hearts. No conscience, spiteful opinions, stuttering voices or no voice when defining wrong from right. Highly noticeable in former president Donald J. Trump’s obnoxious behavior. Steve Kopa Weirton
