Trail needs to be paved

To the Editor, Put your bicycle on your vehicle rack, drive past Weirton Medical to Colliers, turn left at the bridge, pass the abandoned elementary school, and a mile further on the left is a narrow, inconspicuous lane that ends in a small parking lot that sits next to the West Virginia/Brooke County portion of the Panhandle Trail. Negotiate the last half mile of the compacted, dusty and rutted West Virginia section and viola, you are on a wide, smooth paved pathway courtesy of Washington County, Pa. To the Editor, Here is a broadband update from my perspective. I have been reading the same articles that you have about how the US Treasury is including West Virginia (as one of four states) in the $1.2 trillion American Rescue Plan approved for broadband expansion. According to articles that I have read, this money is intended to increase service to 10% of unserved West Virginia locations. Remembering Moe

To the Editor, This week marked the passing of Robert “Moe” Dadasovich. Moe was a fixture in the Weirton community for over 70 years, never missing a community gathering or sporting event. So many in the community considered Moe a friend, providing him rides or just a friendly face. Moe’s love for sports included him being one of the last true Pirates fans, eternally hopeful for one more pennant.
