To the Editor, Dr. Martin Luther King, the I-had-a-dream man that all men would live in peace and made forgiveness a virtue, remembrance a vice. No more violence, white on Black or Black on white, hatred omitted from everyday life. Two children playing, Black or white, what do they know? Only history and remembrance can make them hate, to have enough violence to commit a murder between two friends since first grade. Accountability is needed

To the Editor, Mr. Joe DiBartolomeo resigned for the second time his tenure as city manager. During his remarks the majority of council walked out, most of whom had once thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Apparently, the council and the city manager have been at logger-heads for quite sometime with Mr. DiBartolomeo now calling for an investigation into the misuse of council executive sessions, using Brickstreet for workman’s comp for five years without exploring other options, and some local officials holding dual government positions. Weirton deserves better

To the Editor, The City Council meeting that took place on July 12 was quite monumental. The citizens of Weirton deserve better. Although I do not agree with City Manager Joe DiBartolomeo’s approach and lack of tact, it was refreshing to have someone address some of the issues with City Council that have plagued this City for decades. It seems our leaders continuously point fingers at others. The City of Weirton has been victim to six changes in the City Manager position in three years. To the Editor, On behalf of our parish council, our chairs and our entire church family, a big thank you to our community for making the Holy Trinity Greek Festival the absolute best ever. After a year that kept us all alienated from one another, it was a joy to see the thousands who came out to celebrate one another. To the Editor, Life, is it a cosmic fluke or a gift from God? There is a microscopic part of the stardust we are made of implanted in our physical makeup that ignites the thought process of a child, to the tune, always was always will be, and there must be a reason we are here. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration went from a massive 50 trillion ball of dust down to a microscopic speck that ignited and started the big bang that produced the universe as we know it today.
