Live entertainment needs support

To the Editor, I write to request that Congress create a grant program to support recreation, sports and amusement venues that provide live entertainment yet were excluded from Shuttered Venue Operators Grants program (Section 324 of Public Law No:116-260). It is imperative to the future of racetracks in communities across the country that Congress provide a lifeline for live entertainment businesses that have experienced unprecedented declines in revenue as a result of complying with attendance restrictions. Rediscovering Holliday’s Cove in the museum

To the Editor, We are redesigning the Holliday’s Cove room of the Weirton Area Museum and Cultural Center. That entails creating a clear picture of what this area was like when it was still called Holliday’s Cove. Of particular focus will be the early Holliday’s Cove era and life on the frontier. We are asking the public for donations of artifacts from this time period. This can include correspondence, parcel surveys, Native American objects, and even everyday objects that were used during this time. To the Editor, Only in America will we stop a football game, drag out measuring chains and look at a play 15 times from six different angles to make sure we make the right call, but we won’t verify the integrity of an election for the highest office in our nation. Bring school back full time

To the Editor, What was the 4 to 1 vote to send the students in Hancock County back to school on the hybrid system based on? Thank you for the one board member who voted against it. Did you consider all the data? Students, ALL grades 1-12, have a very low percentage of catching and transferring the COVID virus. It seems all the school boards, including the Governor, who sent the students back on Jan. 21 but held off winter sports until March 1, are being persuaded by the Teachers Union. Virtual school is not working. A large percentage of students are not doing the work at all. ...
