To the Editor, This is ridiculous that people are so greedy and selfish, that they have to hoard food and personal things. Leave some for other people. Do your once-a-week shopping and don’t hoard. That’s the problem, the media blows everything out of control. It’s nice to know what’s going on, but don’t put people in a panic. What is it? People not only are hoarding toilet paper, they are hoarding canned goods. No wonder they need all that toilet paper. President has to remain calm
To the Editor, Every president has his moments; some good, some not so good. Responsible for both. The travesty under the presidency of Donald J. Trump. Mistep after mistep, tweet after tweet, is starting to take its toll. Trump is doing what he did best in running his business, filing bankruptcies, now bankrupting the American dream. Cutting taxes, put tariffs on friend and foe, and intimidating the fed to reduce interest rates to zero has drawn the world into a recession and with all possibility a second world depression. They want us to panic
To the Editor, I work in an elementary school. Last month, there was a period where fully one-fifth of our student body was out with the flu. Staff was getting sick. It was bad, and not much different, in schools around the country. Like any other virulent illness, flu infects schools, work places and wherever people gather. A chance to reverse our priorities
To the Editor, The first Commandment says, “I am the Lord your God, thou shall not have false gods before me.” God is talking about false gods or idols being substituted for and therefore taking the place of our authentic God — our Creator and Father. The first three Commandments are about our relationship with God while the last seven are about our relationship with each other. That would indicate our relationship with God is first in importance. Too much spending
To the Editor, In 2016, the Hancock County Commission offered the nonprofit, which had operated the animal shelter for 20 years, a total of $188,000 to operate the county animal shelter consisting of $88,000 from the “County General Account” and $100,000 from the “Shelter Excess Levy”. Since taking over operation of the county shelter, the Hancock County Commissioners have approved over $1,100,000 in additional shelter expenses. Again, the $1,100,000 is additional taxpayer dollars spent beyond the original $188,000 annual budget the Commission offered the nonprofit to operate ...
