Burned up: Callers reported a pregnant woman was being held against her will by her boyfriend and had a burn on her face inflicted by him, Wednesday. When they got to the location the man’s mother told them the two had been arguing and her son became angry and flicked his cigarette, striking his girlfriend in the face. She said her son never told her she couldn’t leave, nor did he try to keep her from leaving, telling police he would have taken her to her family’s home, but he didn’t have enough gas to get there. The male returned to the property and told deputies they’d been arguing but insisted it never turned physical nor did he tell her she couldn’t leave. Deputies said he also told them several times he hadn’t had a cigarette, but when they pointed out his mother had already told them he had one and flicked it he finally admitted he’d thrown one, “but not at (his girlfriend) directly and if it hit her he was sorry.” When deputies told him it hit her beneath her eye and left a blister, he claimed she had hit him July 8 and it left a mark, but he hadn’t reported it and deputies said he had no visible marks that would indicate that he had been assaulted.
