Leadership changes at Kroger are announced
WESTERVILLE — Dana Zurcher is retiring as president of the Kroger Columbus Division and will be succeeded by Jon Young, officials have announced.
Zurcher will retire June 28 after more than 38 years of service to the company.
“For nearly four decades, Dana has been an inspiring leader both in Kroger and throughout the communities we serve,” said Mary Ellen Adcock, senior vice president of operations for the Kroger Co. “She made a tremendous impact on our associates in more than seven divisions. Dana led with purpose and passion, and we will continue to feel her influence for years to come.”
Zurcher began her career with Kroger in 1985 in store management in Indianapolis. She was named division president of the Columbus Division in 2019.
Young is a seasoned retail leader with more than 30 years of experience in the grocery industry. His appointment is effective June 1.
“I’m excited to see how Jon’s relentless passion will benefit our Columbus Division associates and our customers,” continued Adcock. “He is a high-energy leader who always challenges those are around him to be the best, and this effort will drive our associates’ work to provide fresh, affordable food for our customers across three states and hundreds of communities.”
After beginning his career with other retailers, Young joined Kroger in 2002 as a store manager for the Southwest Division. In 2019, he was promoted to vice president of operations for the Houston Division, before being named to his current role as vice president of operations for Kroger’s Fry’s Division in 2022.
The Columbus Division operates 113 stores in Ohio, West Virginia and Michigan.
