Fire at Eagle Manufacturing under investigation WELLSBURG — A fire at the Eagle Manufacturing facility Wednesday afternoon is under investigation. "One of the plastics machines caught fire," reported Wellsburg Fire Chief Scott Kins, who noted the fire was contained to the area of the machine. "The sprinkler system in the building was operational and deployed." Damage was limited to the machine itself and its electronics, and no injuries were reported, Kins said. Volunteers sought for Ohio River Sweep in Steubenville STEUBENVILLE – The annual Ohio River Sweep cleanup event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon June 6 at the Steubenville Marina. Organized since 1989 by ORSANCO, FORE and environmental protection agencies from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, the cleanup effort focuses on removing litter from the Ohio River and surrounding areas.
