Blood on our hands

To the Editor, As Americans and Christians, I feel we have a very important responsibility, and that is to vote. It also is a privilege when living in a free country. It is necessary to know the platform behind the candidate. While it would be beneficial to have a person with the perfect personality, you are not voting for him or her — you are voting for the platform. The most important issue of this campaign is the voice of the unborn being heard —or not heard. Abortion started out being only during the first weeks of pregnancy because of a health issue of the mother. It has ...

The state of the nation

To the Editor, The media reports of “chaos” and “both sides” come far short of describing the sheer disregard and disrespect for the American people on display in the presidential debate. If you haven’t watched it yet, do your country a favor and subject yourself to this unpleasant 90-minute diatribe by the President of the United States. Be certain and secure that this is what you want for the next four years if you still intend to vote for Donald Trump. Only one candidate arrived on that stage intending to respect the rules they both agreed to, of two-minute answers ...

Don’t let the swamp win

To the Editor, The Clinton era ushered in a new level of corruption in American politics. The Clinton Foundation became a means of funneling money for government favors. As revealed by the Director of National Intelligence John Radcliffe, Hillary Clinton’s $10 million Steele Dossier became the genesis of the now debunked Russian investigation of President Donald Trump. According to handwritten notes by Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan, President Barack Obama had been briefed on presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign plan to stir up a scandal against U.S. ...

Pray before voting

To the Editor, At this critical time in our nation’s history, I decided to pen a very different letter to the editor. As America embarks on a very delicate process of deciding their choice of candidates, in the upcoming elections, I ask for a simple request. Please select candidates that will help stop the senseless and sinful killing of unborn children, and select those candidates who can help turn this county, state, and country back to God. We need to turn back from where we are now, and ask for His blessings, so we can begin moving in a new direction. I pray that you ...

Does anyone care?

To the Editor, After finally getting my internet connection back and periodic power loss and begging for some street lights to be repaired, I have come to a conclusion. we have no one in our town who cares about the citizens. At least once a month power goes out on Marland Heights for five minutes and I have to reset everything in my home. It looks like nobody can fix these issues. With power loss we get no internet service, again resetting everything. Then after numerous attempts and empty promises to fix downtown street lights, plus those off exits coming into Weirton that we ...

The American nightmare

To the Editor, The debate: The Trump activists shouldn’t be happy. All the questions asked and the president’s answers had to do with what President Trump did or didn’t. Biden’s answers pertained to what he would have done differently. What is happening in America right now, good or bad, is Trump’s legacy. It’s happening on his watch. The Trump-Biden debate was as close as one can relate to the Abbott and Costello “Who’s on First” skit. Who’s on second, What’s on first, and so it goes on. Trump feeds one a ham sandwich and makes them think they had a ...
