To the Editor, A quote from comedian George Carlin. God: “I am convinced he is a he, because no woman could or would ever screw things up this badly.” President Donald J. Trump is living proof there is a disease in the world worse than COVID-19, and it is called Trumpitis. Mary Trump, the author of “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man.” Who would know an uncle any better than his niece? Looking for answers

To the Editor, After attending the council meeting on Monday 7-13-20 I am disappointed on how I was treated as a 80-year resident of the city of Weirton. There were questions I had intended to ask under Citizens Remarks and was told by the city manager that questions and answers could not be done and my three-minute time limit had begun. The citizen after me was given at least 10 minutes of questions and answers by the city manager and others in the city administration. Do not know why I was not given the same courtesy. To the Editor, There are times in our life that we run into folks that influence us. Doctors, nurses, lawyers, emergency workers, warehouse workers, industry folk...and all other work aspects that as children, or when we grow older, influence us to choose what we want to make out of our lifestyle. To the Editor, As it has been announced recently that Bethany College, an excellent institution of higher learning, has decided to remove the name of former West Virginia U.S. Sen. Robert C. Byrd (1917-2010) from its student health care building, which had been named in his honor, as result of his involvement with the Ku Klux Klan for a short period in the 1940s, I feel it is appropriate to consider Byrd’s life and career before he is, inappropriately, I feel, demonized.
