Take care of your properties

To the Editor, This is about people who don’t take care of their property. If you can’t take care of it, you shouldn’t have it. It’s a shame neighbors have to endure your ability to not keep up your property, and they surely know their property needs taken care of. And there are people in office who know about this, but do nothing about it because they are friends with the person. How many times is it going to take for them to get the message about their property. Florence Donley Weirton

A nation in chaos

To the Editor, At first it was a protest over the execution of a black man by a white policeman. That horrifying scene was played over and over on American television. Have black Americans been hurt through the years; of course, there can be no denial. The “protests”, however, have now become out of control. Burning police cars, looting, ransacking businesses, desecrating monuments have gone on night after night. Many involved are indoctrinated white college kids who couldn’t find Indiana on a map. The big bang boom

To the Editor, Okay. Catchy title for my little tidbit. But as you folks are reading this, its the 4th of July. The celebration of this nation. The rockets red glare. The bombs bursting in the air. Moms apple pie. Hot dogs. Cookouts. Family and freinds get together. But there will be those who work different shifts. Some hauling goods on the road, in the air or sea. Or even by train. Save the store

To the Editor, What a sad day when the news was heard about the closing of our downtown Kroger. This store has been a go-to for over six decades, and because it is splotched with red ink, down it goes. I’m sure not every store in this conglomerate can pull their own weight, but there should be more to it than that. Please don’t tell me that Kroger is losing money across the whole chain of holdings, if anything I would bet sales have soared since the pandemic struck. Trump is the president of the United States and his actions and words are those of a spoiled child who would not be allowed out of the house in fear of what he might say to embarrass the family, yet his handlers let him out to embarrass America to the world. Learning to love Big Brother

To the Editor, What is love? Love is preached everywhere. Among its manifestations are filial love, love of nature or love of one’s occupation. For many it is pure sensuality culminating in amatory congress but in most instances, this is nothing but lust. Exclusive of an abiding love for the Creator, there is a singular love which, once consummated, remains permanent. At a gut level and at high risk, we do what many of us do: Judge a person by his looks and by the way he sounds.
